The Rodi chess set presents a composed interplay of mass, surface, and function, shaped around the expressive quality of travertine. The box is carved from a solid block of colored stone and its clear geometry balanced by softened edgesthat lend visual ease and material depth. The removable leather-covered lid features an inlaid chessboard on one side, transforming the act of opening into a precise, deliberate gesture. A leather-covered fixed base beneath mirrors the lid, giving the closed piece a composed symmetry.
Inside, colored travertine chess pieces are carefully ordered alongside walnut wood and maple dama chips, each housed within dedicated slots shaped to their profiles.
Every element is held with clarity and intent, bringing order, material richness, and quiet precision to the ritual of play.
